Would you ever think that rappers such as T.I. and Lil Wayne along with others were purchasing items from a Buffalo start-up? Well guess what they are!
Krudmart is a clothing retail store that started back in 2002 by two guys that had an excessive stock of clothing. The founders soon transformed their ebay sales into an online business that consisted of the fashion and style brands that they liked. One of the employees told me that the style is “streetware,” and that Krudmart is an outlet that finds the latest and coolest streetware brands to distribute.
The store soon developed its own identity, giving birth to Krudmart. In the batch of different brands, Krudmart sells its own items that it designs. The start-up now has a new owner Lance K. that plans to take Krudmart to a whole ‘nother level. During my visit a customer told me that Krudmart is the best shop out there, because it caters to a niche market. The majority of items that I saw on the store were men’s fashion, but I was told that women apparel can be bought online.
Finding stores like this is another reason I enjoy going on Grant Street. The urban and hip-hop feel of the store reminds me of the Bronx. So I am definitely looking forward to see how this company branches out.
